Equipment

  • Waffle Maker

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups organic all-purpose flour spoon & leveled
  • 2 teaspoon Aluminum-Free baking powder I use Rumford baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 large pasture raised eggs
  • cups milk room temperature
  • ½ cup grass-fed butter melted (1stick)
  • 2 Tablespoon organic cane sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat waffle iron. Lightly grease it with melted butter.
  • In large bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, 2tsp baking powder, ½ tsp sea salt.
  • In medium bowl, beat 2 eggs, then add 1¼ cup milk, ½ cup melted butter, 2 TBS cane sugar (or honey), and 1 tsp pure vanilla and whisk until well combined.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. A few lumps are ok.
  • Scoop ½ cup of batter for each waffle into waffle maker, or scoop an appropriate amount for your waffle maker. Cook for about 4 minutes, or until golden brown and lightly crisp. The timing will depend on your waffle iron.
  • Serve with more butter & maple syrup.

Notes

Tips for Perfect Waffles:
  • Let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking to allow the baking powder to activate.
  • For extra crispness, place cooked waffles on a wire rack instead of stacking them.
  • Leftovers? Freeze the waffles in an airtight container and reheat in a toaster for a quick treat.
